Thank you for joining us in our online worship service today. We pray that this service will uplift you and draw you closer to the Lord. We will be having services by live stream only through July 8th.
Our new church Facebook page “Immanuel Baptist Church of Oxford” currently has over 200 people that follow us. If you are one that is following us, please help us by sharing the page and worship services with your friends. This will allow more people to become familiar with our wonderful church and hopefully one of our services may touch someone who needs to accept Christ as Lord.
I hope you and your family have a great July 4th weekend. Let us always remember the price that so many paid for us to enjoy our freedom and Christ’s sacrifice on the cross which made it possible by trusting in him for all to experience true freedom.
During these challenging times may we stay focused in prayer and reading His word, so the light of Christ continues to shine bright in our lives. I am praying for each of you every day and if you need anything, please let your deacon know. If you do not have a deacon assigned to you, please reach out to me. My telephone number is on the front page of the bulletin and may God’s peace be with you and your family always. As followers of Christ we know the best is yet to come because He lives.
Love in Christ,
Philippians 4:13 “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”
From Sunday, July 5 Bulletin
Immanuel began on June 1 2008 under the leadership of the Lord and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Our Founding Pastor, Rev Jerry Montgomery along with his wife Madaline, retired from full time service as of the end of 2012 after more than sixty years of serving as a pastor. Jerry and Madaline remain an important part of our congregation and he is recognized as our Honorary Pastor Emeritus. After serving for five years with the International Mission Board in Africa and South America, my wife Dee and I joined Immanuel in March 2012, and then we were called by the church as the Pastor subsequent to Jerry’s retirement.
This church was purposefully named Immanuel, taken from Matthew 1:23, believing that God was with them then, and it is obvious He continues to be today. The Lord continues to bless Immanuel with members who love Him and who love each other. We want to be drawn closer to Him through daily reading of the Scriptures, communicating with Him through prayer, and by then being obedience to whatever He might have for us.
As you will see in other sections of our website, our services are held on Sunday mornings with Sunday School at 9:00 AM followed by our Worship Service at 10:00 AM. Our midweek Prayer Meeting is on Wednesday evenings at 5:00 PM which includes a time of prayer and Bible study. Choir practice begins at 6:00PM. There are many other activities and active ministries for those who would like to be more involved.
Our initial building was completed in August 2012 which served us very well. The Lord continues to bless Immanuel and as of July 2016 we moved into our second phrase of building with an additional 17,000 square feet for a new Worship Center and Fellowship Hall. We are excited to be serving the Lord for His glory.
We strive to be a praying church, that loves the Lord, and are focused on being obedient to our purpose of supporting missions and taking the Word to the lost.
I trust the other information on this website may answer most of your questions but please feel free to call me at any time. Our church phone is 352.502.3384. If you are seeking a new church home we invite you to come and worship with us.
Blessings and love,
Greetings in the name of Christ our Savior.
