Welcome to Immanuel Baptist Church. We are so glad you are worshipping with us this morning. We trust you sense the presence of the Holy Spirit in each of our services.
This past Sunday was a very special service as we celebrated the Lord’s Supper for the first time since we began dealing with the virus. Thank you to Pastor David and our Deacons who made this possible for us. We will continue with this modified approach to the Supper until such time we are able to revert to our previous, more traditional way. Thank you for your support and understanding.
Also, thank you church on behalf of Pastor David & Wendy, as well as from Dee and me, for the very kind acknowledgement and recognition last Sunday on Pastor Appreciation Day. The gift card and roses were a very nice surprise.
Sunday School continues at 9:00 AM as Gaye Martin continues her Ladies’ Class in the Fellowship Hall, and Bob Shook’s class in the Chapel. Men’s Bible Study continues to meet in person on Tuesdays at 10:00 AM also in the Chapel.
As a result of the obvious need for our Grief Share classes, Carlene Jones begins our next series of classes on Wednesday, October 28th at 10:00 AM. This is an excellent class for all who have lost a loved one, or who are dealing with grief for any reason. If you would like to register, please let Carlene know at 513-543-4768 or contact Pastor David. You do not have to be a member of IBC to participate.
Please mark your calendar now for Sunday 25 October for our next Singspiration. It will be at 6:00 PM. I am confident that all of you noticed that Russell admitted to his personal guarantee that this one will be the best one ever.
Our Deacons are challenged to keep in touch with each of their assigned families all the time but especially during these unusual times. If for any reason you are not hearing from your Deacon on a regular basis, please let me or Pastor David know. We understand the importance of no one feeling they are neglected and urge you to help us maintain contact with each of you.
Please remember to pray for the Family of God, our nation and the pending election, and for the lost to come to Jesus.
Blessings and love to each of you,
Philippians 4:13 “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.”
From Sunday, October 18 Bulletin
Immanuel began on June 1 2008 under the leadership of the Lord and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Our Founding Pastor, Rev Jerry Montgomery along with his wife Madaline, retired from full time service as of the end of 2012 after more than sixty years of serving as a pastor. Jerry and Madaline remain an important part of our congregation and he is recognized as our Honorary Pastor Emeritus. After serving for five years with the International Mission Board in Africa and South America, my wife Dee and I joined Immanuel in March 2012, and then we were called by the church as the Pastor subsequent to Jerry’s retirement.
This church was purposefully named Immanuel, taken from Matthew 1:23, believing that God was with them then, and it is obvious He continues to be today. The Lord continues to bless Immanuel with members who love Him and who love each other. We want to be drawn closer to Him through daily reading of the Scriptures, communicating with Him through prayer, and by then being obedience to whatever He might have for us.
As you will see in other sections of our website, our services are held on Sunday mornings with Sunday School at 9:00 AM followed by our Worship Service at 10:00 AM. Our midweek Prayer Meeting is on Wednesday evenings at 5:00 PM which includes a time of prayer and Bible study. Choir practice begins at 6:00PM. There are many other activities and active ministries for those who would like to be more involved.
Our initial building was completed in August 2012 which served us very well. The Lord continues to bless Immanuel and as of July 2016 we moved into our second phrase of building with an additional 17,000 square feet for a new Worship Center and Fellowship Hall. We are excited to be serving the Lord for His glory.
We strive to be a praying church, that loves the Lord, and are focused on being obedient to our purpose of supporting missions and taking the Word to the lost.
I trust the other information on this website may answer most of your questions but please feel free to call me at any time. Our church phone is 352.502.3384. If you are seeking a new church home we invite you to come and worship with us.
Blessings and love,
Greetings in the name of Christ our Savior.
