Immanuel began on June 1 2008 under the leadership of the Lord and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Our Founding Pastor, Rev Jerry Montgomery along with his wife Madaline, retired from full time service as of the end of 2012 after more than sixty years of serving as a pastor. Jerry and Madaline remain an important part of our congregation and he is recognized as our Honorary Pastor Emeritus. After serving for five years with the International Mission Board in Africa and South America, Mike Dameron was called by the church as the Pastor subsequent to Jerry’s retirement.
On July 31, 2022 Pastor Chuck Houston was welcomed as Senior Pastor of our church. We all look forward to his leadership in the years ahead.
This church was purposefully named Immanuel, taken from Matthew 1:23, believing that God was with them then, and it is obvious He continues to be today. The Lord continues to bless Immanuel with members who love Him and who love each other. We want to be drawn closer to Him through daily reading of the Scriptures, communicating with Him through prayer, and by then being obedience to whatever He might have for us.
As you will see in other sections of our website, our services are held on Sunday mornings with Sunday School at 9:00 AM followed by our Worship Service at 10:00 AM. Our midweek Prayer Meeting is on Wednesday evenings at 5:00 PM which includes a time of prayer and Bible study. Choir practice begins at 6:00PM. There are many other activities and active ministries for those who would like to be more involved.
Our initial building was completed in August 2012 which served us very well. The Lord continues to bless Immanuel and as of July 2016 we moved into our second phase of building with an additional 17,000 square feet for a new Worship Center and Fellowship Hall. We are excited to be serving the Lord for His glory.
We strive to be a praying church, that loves the Lord, and are focused on being obedient to our purpose of supporting missions and taking the Word to the lost.
